What started everything was I had taken Misty to the Vet for a watch problem on Sept. 14,2008. She'd scratched the eyeball of her and also the vet gave me a watch ointment for treating her. She's been fine until aproximatelly two weeks ago. Misty has been "snoring" at nighttime. After that , she began wheezing very last week during the day. As the care giver of her, I used the trip of her to the vet as being a starting point to back track what had changed in the life of her.
The very first thing I did was clean the "blanky" of her which was in the cat carrier which accompanied to the vet. The first action of mine was to place the cat carrier and the "blanky" of her in the closet in which she couldn't access it. 3 days passed although wheezing was increasing. Thus, I went back and also considered what else I'd changed in the life of her. I purchased similar meal, though I'd run by a neighborhood corner store and then purchased cat litter. AWWWW! The cat litter.
For the last seven years I've used the same manufacturer of cat litter. 3 weeks ago I acquired an alternative brand I admit just since it was handy for ME, and imagine what! The cat litter was the sole change in the life of her that I'd MADE ON HER BEHALF. Man do I really feel awful!
The husband of mine and I began researching cat allergies on the web at 3:00 in the early morning. WHO KNEW- cats are able to have allergies just love us! The very first advice was taking a wash cloth soaked in water that is hot and clean the down of her from mind to toe. Meanwhile, Steve my husband was conducting his own test in the bathroom. He'd shot the cat litter I purchased and stuck the hand of his in it. It came away covered in DUST. Running in to the living room, he stated "look at this!" I believed OKAY, if Misty is in the litter box and stirring up the "dust" by covering the company of her, she is not just breathing this dust in, but the paws of her are covered in it so when she grooms herself; she is licking her paws and swallowing the particles also.
The solution wasn't just to alter her cat litter to a NON DUST cat litter, though I had taken a wash cloth, soaked in h2o that is hot and washed her down from head to toe. I reckon whether my husband stuck the hand of his in the bag of cat litter which became available covered in dust; next, when Misty cleaned herself not just was she inhaling the dust, she had also been licking it to wash the paws of her to cleanse herself.
Man- do I feel as a fool, choosing cheap, along with handy on my cat's behalf I might have injured her. News that is good is she is okay today and also on roadway to recovery.
I suppose the purpose of this report is what is convenient and best for us isn't often suitable for our cat family members that have no voice, and cannot tell us what is annoying them. We've to be the guardians of theirs plus care givers.
